About Link-Up

2003
The Queens Award for Voluntary Service. The Award recognises the vital role played by the hundreds of thousands of ‘unsung heroes’ of the voluntary and community world and emphasises the importance of continuing recognition of their work. The number of Awards made each year will be determined by the number and quality of nominations received. Awards are made to groups rather than to individuals.
2008
The Microsoft Technology Innovation Award was designed to promote information technology best practices and to recognize the grassroots efforts on organizations frontline. Jointly launched by the CACP and Microsoft, the award recognises individuals and organisations that incorporate new ideas demonstrating creativity and innovation in using technology to their workplace.

Link-Up is a registered charity (Charity No.1063009) that has developed from a 1980's church of England urban project. Originally aimed at responding faithfully within a local community to a range of needs. It has now grown to employing several staff who, together with volunteers, provide a range of services for all ages. Many of the activities within Link-Up help people learn and develop personally.
